Illuminate Rx Expands Member Affordability Through Sempre Health Partnership

Manufacturer-funded savings built into the pharmacy benefit help lower member out-of-pocket costs and support medication adherence at no additional cost to plan sponsors

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Illuminate Rx, Inc., a low-net-cost pharmacy benefits manager (PBM) and affiliate of RxBenefits, Inc., has partnered with Sempre Health to expand access to manufacturer-funded savings on medications. Designed to bring greater clarity, flexibility, and control to pharmacy benefits, Illuminate Rx is integrating Sempre's affordability solution to give members a simpler way to decrease their prescription costs at the pharmacy counter while improving medication adherence.

The partnership reflects Illuminate Rx's strategic approach to pharmacy benefits: looking beyond traditional PBM levers to find and integrate external sources of value as part of the pharmacy experience. Through Sempre, eligible members can access savings at no additional cost to the employer or member, without having to search for available copay assistance or discount programs independently.

Manufacturer copay assistance programs are widely available for certain medications but accessing them can require consumers to know they exist, find them, and enroll. Sempre simplifies that process by using pharmacy claims information to connect with eligible Illuminate Rx members and communicate available savings.

When a member fills a participating medication, Sempre identifies the savings opportunity and proactively reaches out to the member. Then, savings are applied at the pharmacy, bringing down the amount the member pays out of pocket.

Reducing out-of-pocket costs can help address that challenge by making medications more affordable and encouraging adherence. By detecting savings opportunities from sources outside of PBM formulary, network, and contracting tools, Illuminate Rx can help employers with both objectives. Sempre reports that participating members achieve approximately 45% to 65% estimated savings on out-of-pocket prescription costs and an average 15% to 25% improvement in medication adherence.^[1]
