ST. PAUL, Minn., Nov. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Help is available for thousands of Minnesotans looking for health insurance through MNsure, as open enrollment season began November 1. Tax credits are still available to lower premiums, and enrollees can talk to a MNsure expert for free or shop and compare plans online at MNsure.org.

December 15, 2026, is the deadline for coverage starting January 1, 2027. January 15, 2027, is the last day of MNsure’s open enrollment period and the deadline for coverage starting February 1.

"Consumers know the importance of having health insurance but might be concerned about what's available due to rising costs," said Libby Caulum, MNsure CEO. "MNsure is here to help Minnesotans shop plans, compare benefits, and qualify for all the financial help they may be eligible to receive."

MNsure is the only place Minnesotans can access Advanced Premium Tax Credits (APTC) that lower the cost of their health care plans. More than half of enrollees will qualify for tax credits and/or cost savings. Those who do will save on average over $760 per month.

Consumers can also compare plans from local companies and different coverage levels to find the plan that best suits their families and budgets. The shop and compare tools are available online at MNsure.org; in-person help is available through MNsure's network of assisters, navigators, and brokers or over the phone to MNsure's Contact Center.

"If you're not sure where to start or have questions about your options, free help is available. Our network of partners can assist Minnesotans who need help getting started. They're located across the state and offer help in multiple languages," Caulum said.
