GAC GS7: Supporting GAC's Global New-energy Expansion

GUANGZHOU, China, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The GAC GS7, a large‑size plug‑in hybrid SUV, played an important role in GAC's global product roll‑out across multiple overseas regions.

The model drew widespread industry attention following its appearance at the Australian Auto Show. Its front fascia adopted a full‑width light strip integrated with 2,248 smart LEDs. The distinctive lighting design demonstrated GAC's exploration of future mobility and further enriched the brand's product imagination for the Australian market.

Beyond the Oceania market, GAC introduced the GS7 as one of its flagship models upon official market entry in Ghana. When GAC officially launched operations in Ghana on August 19, the GAC GS7 joined a product portfolio together with the GS8, M8 (GN8), AION i60 and AION V. This lineup covered diverse mobility needs including urban commuting, family trips, business receptions and green travel scenarios for local consumers.

As GAC accelerated its overseas business, the GAC GS7 formed part of the brand's broad new‑energy product matrix. GAC delivered robust overseas performance in August, with proprietary‑brand exports hitting 26,978 units, a year‑on‑year increase of 177%. The cumulative export volume from January to August reached 172,008 units, up 136% year‑on‑year. Total cumulative exports of GAC have approached 600,000 units.

Strong regional growth created favourable market conditions for models such as the GAC GS7. Africa recorded retail sales surge of 881% year‑on‑year in August, ranking as GAC's fastest‑growing overseas market. In Australia, terminal sales rose 84% month‑on‑month in August. GAC also held its All‑Australia Dealer Conference in Sydney to consolidate local partner resources for long‑term market development.

The GAC GS7 reflected GAC's systematic overseas strategy. Together with other flagship vehicles, it helped the brand meet diversified local user demands, supporting GAC's continued progress toward global new‑energy deployment.
