SBTi validation recognizes DuPont's continued climate progress, with new 2035 emissions-reduction targets and a 2050 net-zero target

WILMINGTON, Del., Oct. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- DuPont (NYSE: DD) today announced that its net-zero science-based greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions reduction targets have been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). The validation encompasses DuPont's near- and long-term greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions targets and reinforces commitment to achieve net-zero emissions across its value chain.

The new targets include:

Overall Net-Zero Target: DuPont is committed to achieving net-zero GHG emissions across its value chain by 2050.

Near-term Targets: DuPont commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 83% by 2035 from a 2019 base year. The company also commits to reducing absolute scope 3 GHG emissions by 63% by 2035 from a 2020 base year.

Long-Term Targets: DuPont commits to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 90% by 2050 from a 2019 base year and also commits to reduce absolute Scope 3 GHG emissions 90% by 2050 from a 2020 base year.

DuPont has already delivered significant decarbonization of Scopes 1, 2 and 3. In 2025, DuPont reduced its combined Scopes 1 and 2 emissions by 76% since its 2019 base year. The company also reduced its Scope 3 emissions from the 2020 baseline by 59%.

This marks DuPont's second set of near-term SBTi climate targets and builds on the company's achievement of its previous SBTi-validated 2030 emissions-reduction target ahead of schedule.

SBTi is a corporate climate action organization that develops standards, tools, and guidance that allow companies to set GHG emissions reductions targets in line with what is needed to reach net-zero by 2050.

This validation demonstrates DuPont's continued commitment to act on climate while supporting customers seeking to reduce emissions within their own value chains.

"SBTi validation reinforces the rigor we place on our climate commitments and the progress we're making to reduce emissions across our operations and value chain," said Scott Collick, Chief Sustainability Officer, DuPont. "By advancing sustainable innovation, building more resilient operations and collaborating across our value chain, we can reduce our footprint while helping our customers advance their sustainability goals."
