Ricker's appointment follows highly successful eight-year tenure as provost
"I am truly honored to have been selected to serve as Hood College's 12th president. At this pivotal moment in the history of the College and, more broadly, for higher education, adaptability, agility and forward-thinking will be essential," said Ricker. "I'm excited to build upon Hood's success and continue to champion the outstanding accomplishments of our faculty, staff and students while advancing our mission and strategic goals.

"Hood College is fortunate to have strong, long-standing partnerships with regional businesses. These partnerships continue to ensure that Hood graduates possess the most current, high-demand skills, which are sharpened through a myriad of hands-on applied learning experiences woven throughout our curriculum. Hood is an important economic engine for our community, and I am eager to fortify and expand our regional partnerships.
"In this position, collaboration is more important than ever. I could not do this job without the support of a strong leadership team, the Board of Trustees, the Hood community and our many external partners. Growing Hood's footprint and continuing to establish meaningful relationships will be a key priority.
"As Hood's provost for the past eight years, I learned that we have one central mission—serving our students. Now, as president, student needs will continue to inform decision-making at the highest level. I look forward to learning and growing alongside them as our campus community continues to evolve.
