Casio America Announces Retirement of Jim Gross, General Manager of Education Technology

Gross to retire at the end of September after 28 years of leadership advancing Casio's calculator innovations, teacher partnerships, and digital learning initiatives in the U.S.

DOVER, N.J., Sept. 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Casio America, Inc. today announced the retirement of Jim Gross, General Manager of Education Technology, whose nearly three decades of leadership transformed Casio into a trusted partner for teachers and students nationwide.

Throughout his nearly three-decade career, Gross has been at the forefront of advancing Casio's corporate creed of "Creativity and Contribution" within the education space. He has brought smart tools into classrooms and made a lasting difference for teachers and students nationwide.

Gross began his tenure at Casio supporting multiple divisions, including digital imaging, where he helped introduce Casio's digital cameras into key U.S. markets and even K–12 classrooms. He later assumed leadership of the Education Technology Division, overseeing strategy, partnerships, and product innovation for Casio's extensive calculator lineup.

Under his guidance, Casio launched several landmark products that shaped how students learn math and science, including the fx-9750 series, the fx-991CW, and the new CG-100 graphing calculator. Gross also played a pivotal role in pioneering Casio's first educational software, ClassPad.net, which directly brought powerful digital math tools to teachers' fingertips.

In addition to product innovation, Gross championed strong partnerships with leading national math and science teacher associations, including ASSM, NCTM, NCSM, and NSTA, ensuring Casio remained a trusted partner for educators year after year.
