Carrot Unveils New Program to Redefine Metabolic-Fertility Care
Sprints Program will Combat Leading Causes of Infertility, Reduce IVF Cycles, and Help Achieve Healthier Pregnancies – Faster – with Pre-Pregnancy Metabolic Care
This clinically-backed, metabolic-fertility program will help members overcome fertility obstacles caused by obesity, blood sugar dysregulation, sperm damage and other common markers of metabolic disorder. When present in both women and men, these disorders make it harder to achieve pregnancy through intercourse and also lead to lower IVF success rates. By helping reduce the number of IVF cycles needed, Sprints significantly reduces physical and emotional stress for members while saving plan sponsors up to
"IVF is critical in fertility care, but it's not the only answer. One-size-fits-all strategies built on misaligned incentives simply don't work," said Carrot's Chief Medical Officer Dr.
Nearly 60 percent of engaged Carrot members choose less expensive and less invasive fertility interventions before IVF – with 30 percent successfully getting pregnant without IVF. Sprints harnesses this motivation and provides deeper, more robust and hyper-personalized pathways to overcome fertility challenges either without IVF, or with fewer IVF cycles. Carrot has structured this preparation phase as a "Premester" period, defined as the 3 to 12 months before a positive pregnancy test. The Sprints program enhances existing features and capabilities that members already access, including at-home ovulation and hormone testing.
Sprints will launch in November for existing Carrot customers and select new customers, followed by broad availability starting
- Pre-Conception Habit-Building Program: Clinically-backed daily coaching for nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress during the "Premester" period. Members are given a Carrot
Welcome Kit with smart-scale integration and the option to invite a partner or spouse to the app so they can train together as they try to conceive. - Hyper-personalized Carrot App Experience: Hyper-personalized plans shaped by members' unique health concerns, fertility goals, and motivational profiles. Backed by Carrot's expert care team, the adaptive experience will combine clinically-validated guidance with content tailored in real time to help members build healthier habits, stay engaged, and make meaningful progress toward pregnancy.
- Clinically Managed Medication Access: Managed access to fertility-supporting medications (i.e., metformin and GLP-1's such as semaglutide, tirzepatide) and hormone supplements for members facing obesity-related fertility challenges.
- Complete Integration with Existing Care Journeys: Seamless integration with existing Carrot app features, enhancing support from Carrot Companions and metabolic-fertility experts for high-impact member support.
"Accelerating access to IVF has never been more important, but avoiding unnecessary procedures when possible is what savvy employers, health plans, and plan sponsors now demand," said Carrot Founder and CEO
