Cardinality.ai and Underdog Dreams team up to launch a program designed to reorient individuals with prospects in Tech Careers

GAITHERSBURG, Md., March 27, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Cardinality.ai, data technology company helping government agencies achieve better outcomes through AI solutions, announced partnership with Underdog Dreams to launch the Train & Hire Program.

Derrick Stephens, a technologist in Cardinality, leads this initiative with his nonprofit organization, Underdog Dreams. His goal is to develop a program for individuals passionate about the tech industry. Since joining Cardinality in mid-2024, Derrick has brought years of experience including his lived experience in foster care and as an Innovation of Immersive Learning Manager. Underdog Dreams, a 501(c) nonprofit, is dedicated to unlocking the limitless potential of At-Promise Youth and Families.

While working together, Cardinality's CEO, Thiag Loganathan, expresses that he and Derrick share similar views: "'Accelerating opportunities is my life's mission. The frequency and quality of opportunities, paired with the guidance of coaching, often represent the greatest challenges one must overcome on the path to prosperity.'" Derrick went on to explain that the program is shaped in the vision both him and Loganathan strive for. 

The focus of the program is designed to open opportunities for those who desire to work in the tech field, providing a eight to twelve week certification program for careers as a Project Coordinator, Business Analyst, or Test Analyst, and after certification, provide those individuals with a six-month paid internship.

Derrick explains that the program teaches "...foundational technology skills and provide professional development through leadership coaching, equipping Train and Hire program graduates to thrive in the tech economy." Currently there are five candidates enrolled in the program. One individual who started the program in October 2024 describes the experience as transforming and rewarding.

Derrick outlined the program's goals for 2025: "This year, we aim to establish a comprehensive program calendar while continuously refining our approach and expanding our impact. More importantly, we strive to strengthen our network by partnering with similar programs and like-minded organizations."
