Caracal Launches Baltimore Hub for Health Care Recycling Services

BALTIMORE, Sept. 29, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Caracal Products & Services, a leader in the health care solutions and recycling services space, is pleased to announce the launch of a new Baltimore location to serve the PPE and medical recycling needs of health care centers in and around Baltimore.

By capturing and recycling commonly discarded materials like polypropylene and polyethylene, the program helps hospitals and health systems reduce waste, lower disposal costs and divert materials from landfills, enabling it to be transformed into new, healthcare-grade products.

Located in an industrial complex at 2-6 Alco Place, Caracal's new 9,000-square-foot warehouse space will serve as a hub for its health care recycling operations in the Baltimore area. The facility will support an innovative recycling program that Caracal has launched in partnership with Johns Hopkins Health System. The location will house industrial balers to compress recyclable materials onsite and form them into bales. The bales are then shipped to recyclers, where the polypropylene is shredded, melted down, and formed into plastic pellets, which are then molded into new products.

In addition, the warehouse will contain around 100 pallet positions and racks for storing inventory and an office space for administrative work. The site will be staffed by a warehouse manager to supervise operations and employees to carry out the recycling and logistics operations.

Caracal's Baltimore location joins its recycling and product distribution facilities in New York and Charlotte, North Carolina. As the demand for sustainability in health care rises, Caracal plans to expand into additional locations along the East Coast. The company supports several health care systems and hospitals that have set ambitious goals to recycle 100% of their disposable materials, such as plastic bags, cardboard, shrink wrap, and other items that previously had been destined for landfills.
