Since its founding in 2004, Cure Alzheimer's Fund has supported some of the most important initiatives in Alzheimer's research, including the Alzheimer's Genome Project™, which uncovered novel genes linked to the disease, and the development of "Alzheimer's in a Dish," a 3-D human cell model that accelerates the testing of potential therapies. CureAlz also has established collaborative consortia focused on such critical areas as tau pathology, the APOE gene, the neuroimmune response, the blood-brain barrier, the role of the microbiome and, most recently, brain aging. Together, these innovative initiatives are reshaping scientific understanding of Alzheimer's and opening new pathways toward next-generation treatments and long-term solutions.
