Nonprofit Marks Major Milestone in Global Effort to Prevent, Slow and Cure Alzheimer's Disease

WELLESLEY, Mass., Oct. 7, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Cure Alzheimer's Fund (CureAlz), a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the most promising research aimed at preventing, slowing and ultimately reversing Alzheimer's disease, announced today it has awarded its 1,000th research grant. This milestone underscores the organization's continued commitment to advancing the science that will bring us closer to effective treatments and, ultimately, a cure for Alzheimer's disease.

Since its founding in 2004, Cure Alzheimer's Fund has supported some of the most important initiatives in Alzheimer's research, including the Alzheimer's Genome Project™, which uncovered novel genes linked to the disease, and the development of "Alzheimer's in a Dish," a 3-D human cell model that accelerates the testing of potential therapies. CureAlz also has established collaborative consortia focused on such critical areas as tau pathology, the APOE gene, the neuroimmune response, the blood-brain barrier, the role of the microbiome and, most recently, brain aging. Together, these innovative initiatives are reshaping scientific understanding of Alzheimer's and opening new pathways toward next-generation treatments and long-term solutions.
