Bookmarks Remind Students to Stay Drug-Free

MILLBURN, N.J., Aug. 26, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- When 40,000 fourth-grade students across New Jersey return to school, they'll find an important message in their books encouraging them to stay drug-free, thanks to the Partnership for a Drug-Free New Jersey's (PDFNJ) Fun Things to Do Instead of Doing Drugs bookmark initiative.

Classrooms and libraries statewide are receiving bookmarks featuring the artwork of Adrian Camilo, a student at John F. Kennedy Elementary School in Jamesburg, and Madison Gunsch, a student at McDivitt Elementary School in Old Bridge. The designs, selected from thousands of entries in PDFNJ's annual contest, highlight creative and positive ways for children to live healthy lives without substances.

"This is a great time of year to connect with students and teachers," said Angelo Valente, Executive Director of PDFNJ. "As schools settle into their fall routines, these materials serve as an inspiring, daily reminder of the power of positive choices."
