Benepass Brings Personalized Employee Benefits Into the AI Era
New AI experience gives employees and HR teams personalized benefits answers and support through Benepass or the AI tools they already use

Instead of searching policies, help centers, or multiple windows within an app, an employee can use a single chat window to ask whether a pair of running shoes is covered by their wellness benefit, see how much money they have left to spend, and get automatic assistance finding the receipt and submitting the claim. The experience draws on the employee's actual benefits and account information to provide a relevant answer and, where authorized, help them take action.
"AI creates a new entryway into benefits data," said
The initial launch supports Benepass-managed spending accounts, including Lifestyle Spending Accounts (LSAs), Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs), and commuter benefits.
The launch comes as AI becomes a more common part of everyday work. SHRM's 2026 research found that 39% of organizations are using AI in HR, while OpenAI research found that 40% of consumer ChatGPT use involves practical tasks such as drafting, planning, and problem-solving.
For HR teams, Benepass can answer questions using program, spending, and activity data; help investigate transactions; highlight changes and trends; and suggest next steps. Companies can also connect Benepass to their own AI benefits assistants, allowing employees to ask questions about their benefits more holistically alongside information from other authorized benefits providers and company systems. For example, an employee could use a company's AI assistant to ask about their overall benefits without having to know which provider or system holds the answer. For HR teams, that means fewer separate systems to navigate and a simpler way to help employees get the information they need.
Behind the scenes, this is made possible through Benepass's own Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, an open standard that allows AI tools to securely connect with outside systems and information. Benepass applies each user's existing permissions to those connections, so people can only access the information and actions available to them.
"Benepass owns the technology behind the benefits experience, from what people see in their accounts to tracking every money movement down to the penny," said
Benepass is also unveiling a new brand across its platform, website, and communications. The refreshed design uses new typography, horizon-inspired tones, card-focused layouts, and approachable imagery designed to make benefits easier to understand and use.
Benepass's new brand and core AI integrations are live today, with broader workspace connectivity rolling out through 2026. Learn more at benepass.com/platform/mcp.
