American Council of the Blind Launches New Accessibility and Training Services Program
Program area will advance equal access for people who are blind or have low vision
The goal of the new Accessibility and Training Services program is to advocate for equal access for people who are blind or have low vision in all aspects of life — including the workplace, websites, applications, products, services, and experiences.
"ACB is committed to breaking down barriers and ensuring that accessibility is not an afterthought, but a fundamental standard," said ACB Executive Director
Through a range of tailored assessment, remediation, and monitoring services, as well as usability testing, training, and surveying, ACB will work closely with individuals and organizations to advocate for accessibility and help resolve accessibility issues. ACB's customized training sessions offer organizations an easy and effective way to better understand accessibility considerations. This training provides practical knowledge and recommendations, enabling teams to address gaps and make improvements right away.
A key benefit of partnering with ACB is the ability to access its nationwide network of 8,000 knowledgeable members; no matter the industry, partners can gather valuable insights on the real-world viability of projects and understand precisely how they're perceived.
"Whether at the individual level, or through your organization, we collaborate closely with you to provide a full range of tailored accessibility services that meet your specific needs," said ACB Accessibility and Training Services Coordinator
