NEW YORK, March 13, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Threesomes have gained considerable momentum among Americans, with 69% reporting increased interest over recent years, according to new data from 3Fun, the leading dating app for open-minded singles and partners to meet like-minded people. The survey of 3,673 3Fun users reveals changing attitudes toward non-traditional relationships, as 72% note greater social acceptance and more open discussions about threesomes and non-monogamy.

Key Survey Findings on Threesomes:

• Surveyed users believe age groups 25-34 (37%) and 35-44 (32%) are the most active in seeking threesomes.
• Singles (41%) and couples (40%) represent nearly equal segments seeking threesomes and/or polyamorous relationships.
• Dating apps dominate as the preferred method to find threesome partners (77%), significantly outpacing traditional in-person meetings (15%).
• One-third of those surveyed (33%) have become more open to different relationship dynamics in the past year.

New York City holds the top position for threesome and polyamorous dating activity, with Los Angeles, Houston, Chicago, and Las Vegas rounding out the top five. Las Vegas stands out with the highest concentration of couples (28%) seeking connections. Meanwhile, Texas emerges as a regional hub, claiming three spots —Dallas, San Antonio, and Houston — in the top 10.

Establishing trust and comfort (19%) ranks third among reported obstacles. Still, two-thirds of users (66%) anticipate continued growth in threesome interest, with less than 4% expecting interest to stay the same or decline.
