Jiangsu Haimen Successfully Hosted the Third Belt and Road Commodity Fair

New York, New York--(Newsfile Corp. - October 31, 2023) - On October 26th, the opening ceremony of the first "Hometown of New Overseas Chinese" Cultural Festival and the third "Belt and Road" Commodity Fair was held in Haimen District, Nantong City, Jiangsu Province.

Haimen, located near Shanghai across the Yangtze River, has always been an important bridgehead for Jiangsu to connect with Shanghai and a vital gateway for Nantong to build the "North Gate" of Shanghai. "Hometown of New Overseas Chinese" is a noteworthy representation of Haimen. With the advent of China's reform and opening-up, a group of hardworking people from Haimen have taken the lead in going abroad to start businesses, engaging in various fields, such as commerce and logistics. Currently, Haimen has nearly 5,000 overseas Chinese entrepreneurs around the world, including nearly 20 prominent overseas Chinese leaders, with a presence in more than 20 countries and regions. Linxi Village in Sanxing Town is even hailed as the "First Village in Transnational Operations."

The "Belt and Road" Commodity Fair in Haimen is now in its third edition. The fair covers an exhibition area of 380,000 square meters with over 3,300 booths. It has attracted over 60 foreign importers from 25 countries, including Russia and Pakistan, as well as more than 100 overseas buyers. Additionally, it features over 20 renowned domestic enterprises and over 50 local exporters. The fair showcases hundreds of categories and thousands of products, including home textiles, red wine, food, and handicrafts. The event also includes a cross-border influencer live-streaming room, promoting local high-quality home textile products through a combination of online and offline methods.

Haimen will make full use of this platform to actively attract and engage overseas Chinese, actively seeking talent, capital, and headquarters, and promoting talent and capital backflow to build a strong, prosperous, beautiful, and high-tech Haimen.
