Jefferies assumes coverage on Atwood Oceanics (NYSE: ATW) with a Buy. PT $56.00.
"As we look forward to 2013 estimates in particular, we believe Consensus expectations for ATW are more reasonable than for any of its peers, as we continue to believe Street expectations for the group might be a little too optimistic despite our relatively bullish view on the market in the near-to-intermediate (i.e., foreseeable) future. ATW should get a boost from solid new contracts on its newbuilds, and as we begin to think more about the impact of the timing of these deliveries, we are of the view that ATW will deliver among the best, if not the outright best, results when it comes to getting its rigs on rate the quickest after delivery."
