Goldman Sachs resumes coverage on Kimberly Clark (NYSE: KMB) with a Neutral. PT $93.00.
The firm notes that while shares have "rerated" higher over the past couple years, valuation is still "less than daunting" given the size of the growth potential in emerging markets. Goldman is particularly sanguine about the company's China business. That said a more commoditized and promotionally intense nature of its developed market business, tempers their enthusiasm.
Goldman sees three reasons to remain on the sidelines: "(1) challenges are building in the US as value priced offerings gain in diapers and private label tissue products undergo a quality upgrade with TAD conversion; (2) its partial exit of its European business will likely be a multi-year drag on sales growth and cash flow while presenting incremental dissynergy risk; (3) the cost outlook appears benign for KMB, but its input cost trajectory has already bottomed."
