Leap Wireless (LEAP) Pops On Rival MetroPCS's Solid Q2 Numbers

Leap Wireless International Inc. (Nasdaq: LEAP) is leaping this morning following solid results from rival MetroPCS (NYSE: PCS) and to a lesser-extent strong results from Sprint (NYSE: S).
MetroPCS reported Q2 EPS of $0.41, $0.20 better than the analyst estimate of $0.21. Revenue for the quarter came in at $1.28 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.26 billion. Quarterly ARPU of $40.62, an increase of $0.13 over second quarter 2011. MetroPCS also reaffirmed FY2012 guidance.
Leap Wireless reports its own numbers on August 6th.
Shares of LEAP are up 9.7 percent to $5.54. PCS is up 26 percent and S is up 13 percent.
