Fitbit (FIT) Gains on Positive Holiday Sales Expectations

Fitbit (NYSE: FIT) shares are positive early following reports of strong Christmas sales.
Quartz noted that the Fitbit app rose to the top of the Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) App Store chart on December 25th for free apps. The rapid rise could indicate that many were setting up their new devices on the holiday.
Fitbit's iOS app has been at the top of Apple's health and fitness charts each day into December, but last Friday marks the first time it was atop the free app list. The app made a 20-spot jump on Christmas from the prior day.
Fitbit is said to have around 22 percent of the wearable fitness device market, according to data from early December.
Shares of Fitbit are up over 6 percent.
