AMD (AMD) PR Refers to GlobalFoundries Statement on Tesla (TSLA)

Advanced Micro Devices (NASDAQ: AMD) PR team referred StreetInsisder to GlobalFoundries statement on Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA), which denied any involvement with the automaker and autonomous vehicle chips.

That statement provided to StreetInsider.com earlier by a Globalfoundries spokesperson read:

"Sanjay's comments at GLOBALFOUNDRIES' GTC event were not reported accurately. In his presentation, Sanjay simply cited that companies like Apple, Google and Tesla are examples of the types of businesses showing interest in working closely with silicon companies to differentiate their offerings. Tesla has not committed to working with us on any autonomous driving technology or product."

Asked if this was AMD's official statement on the matter, they said "yes."

This should finally lay to rest rumors of any deal between AMD and Tesla, as reported by CNBC late Wednesday.
