KKR acquires minority stake in India's BookMyShow

KKR (NYSE: KKR) has signed definitive agreements to acquire a minority stake in BookMyShow, an India-based entertainment ticketing and live events company, according to a press release from the two parties on Wednesday
The transaction is subject to customary regulatory approvals, and financial terms were not disclosed. Avendus Capital served as the exclusive financial advisor for BookMyShow, while Trilegal acted as its legal advisor.
Founded in 2007, BookMyShow operates across movies, live entertainment, and experiences in over 700 towns and cities in India, with additional operations in Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the UAE, and Sri Lanka.
The company also runs BookMyShow Live, a division that manages live events including music concerts, theatrical productions, and sports. Past events have included Lollapalooza India, Coldplay, Ed Sheeran, and Cirque du Soleil.
The deal adds to KKR's existing India private equity portfolio, which includes Medicover India, Lighthouse Learning, Vini Cosmetics, Healthcare Global Enterprises, Darwinbox, and Rebel Foods.
