Apple (AAPL) Affirms Acquisition of Flash-Memory Maker Anobit

Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) affirmed it purchased Israel-based flash-memory maker Anobit Technologies Ltd.
First reported in December, Apple spokesperson Steve Dowling confirmed the purchase to Bloomberg late Tuesday. No further detail about the deal was made, though initial reports pegged the Anotbit acquisition at $500 million or so.
Dowling noted Apple buys smaller companies from time-to-time, not always elaborating on "purpose or plans."
Shares of Apple opened lower Wednesday.
