A tyre that suits a paved yard may struggle in soft soil, while a tyre selected only for puncture resistance may create a firmer ride on rough ground.

Air filled pneumatic tyres usually provide the strongest cushioning, ride comfort, and flotation on soft or uneven ground. They suit many construction and agricultural applications, but they require pressure checks and remain vulnerable to punctures.
Foam filled tyres
Foam filled tyres use a filled pneumatic casing to reduce puncture related stoppages while retaining some cushioning. They can be a practical compromise for mixed terrain, although the added weight must be compatible with the machine and duty.
Solid tyres
Solid tyres provide good puncture protection and low maintenance requirements. These tires are ideal to use near debris and situations where downtime is particularly expensive. The downside would be a tough riding experience that may not work well for extensive use on rough terrain.
Decision Rule: pneumatic tires are best for comfort and performance on soft terrain, solid tires are better in terms of puncture protection, while foam filled tires represent a compromise. Ensure you choose correct sizes and configurations of approved telehandlers.
Select Based on Cost, Not Purchasing Price
A cheaper tire can cost you more money if it leads to punctures, reduced traction, increased fuel consumption, or premature replacement.
