Stocks Reverse Earlier Losses, Move to Highs

October 9, 2013 1:28 PM EDT
Stocks continue to advance off earlier lows and are now at the highs of the session. The Dow is now up 52 points, while the S&P 500 is up 4 points. The Nasdaq remains down 7 points, but is sharply off the lows.

Earlier speculation of a special meeting between Congressional leaders could be contributing. In addition, Janet Yellen's approval as the next Fed Chairman appears to be a lock as even some seemingly hostile delegates have come out in support of her in the role.
