Stock Gains Cut In Half on Consumer Sentiment Number

Stocks are have halved their gains after the worse-than-expected consumer sentiment reading The Dow is currently up 60. The Nasdaq is negative.

The University of Michigan consumer confidence for the month of August come in at 54.9, vs. the economist estimate of 62.0. The reading for July came in at 63.7.
