Dow Surges 1,000 Points

E-mailThe Dow Jones Industrial Average finished the day higher by 1,086 points, its larges daily point gain in history. The index climbed about 4.98%. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 5.84% and the S&P 500 climbed 4.96%.
The massive rally followed steep losses on Christmas Eve, and weeks of downward pressure.
