Dimon Says Interest Rates 'Going Up'; Stocks Dip

June 11, 2013 1:40 PM EDT
After making a push into positive territory earlier, stocks moved back toward the lows mid-day which could have been related to comments from JPMorgan (NYSE: JPM) CEO Jamie Dimon.

Specifically the comment from Dimon that traders are pointing to was "rates are going to go up in the U.S."

At 1:39PM ET, the Dow is down 89, the S&P 500 is down 13 and the Nasdaq is down 26.

Other comments from Dimon:
  • U.S. political environment is a "wet blanket" on the economy
  • He sees no major acquisitions in the foreseeable future
  • Says there is someone at the bank who could succeed him
  • 'There was no lying' on London Whale Trade
