Yukon Metals names Jim Coates as interim CEO
Yukon Metals Corp. (CSE: YMC, FSE: E770, OTCQB: YMMCF) appointed Jim Coates as interim chief executive officer, effective immediately, according to a company statement. Coates, who previously served as executive vice president and director, replaces Rory Quinn, who resigned from his positions as president, CEO and director.
The board of directors will conduct a search for a permanent CEO successor, working with management and an executive search firm. Coates will continue as interim CEO until a replacement is identified and will then return to his executive vice president role while remaining on the board.
"We want to thank Rory for his work and efforts launching Yukon Metals into its current position as a company and wish him all the best in his future endeavors," said Pat Burke, chair of the board of directors. Burke added that the board determined this was the appropriate time for a leadership transition to advance the company's opportunities.
Yukon Metals operates a 17-project portfolio covering more than 43,000 hectares in the Yukon territory, focusing on copper, gold, silver and critical metals exploration. The company is advancing drill targets at the Birch and AZ copper-gold systems and the Star River gold-silver project.
The Vancouver-based exploration company was built on the Berdahl family's prospecting work spanning over 30 years, the same team associated with Snowline Gold Corp.'s assets. The board stated it will work closely with Coates and his management team to execute the company's business strategy into 2026.
