Vision Marine Technologies Inc. (NASDAQ: VMAR) announced the promotion of Daniel Rathe to Chief Technical Officer of its operations. The appointment follows the company's transition from product development to commercial deployment of its E-Motion 180E high-voltage electric powertrain.
The company stated that Xavier Montagne, former Chief Operating Officer and Chief Technology Officer, concluded his contract after completing the industrialization and validation of the E-Motion 180E powertrain. Rathe, who worked under Montagne's mentorship for over two years, will lead the integration and deployment of Vision Marine's technology across Nautical Ventures' sales network.
Rathe has coordinated technical operations, boat integrations, and testing of the E-Motion 180E system in Florida over the past two years. Under his leadership, the Florida team will focus on system conformity, installation, testing, and establishing high-voltage rigging bays across Nautical Ventures' locations.
Vision Marine acquired Nautical Ventures Group Inc., which operates nine dealers across Florida and reported a 5-year EBITDA compound annual growth rate exceeding 20%. The E-Motion 180E powertrain completed its development and industrialization stage, including validation with McLaren Engineering.
The company also announced the resignation of Anthony E. Cassella, Jr. from its Board of Directors, effective July 11, 2025. Cassella stepped down due to potential conflicts between his professional activities at MarineMax and his board role at Vision Marine.
"Daniel's leadership and technical expertise, combined with the strong operational platform provided by Nautical Ventures, position Vision Marine to capitalize on the growing demand for electric marine propulsion," said Alexandre Mongeon, CEO of Vision Marine Technologies.
Vision Marine specializes in high-voltage electric propulsion systems for the marine industry and describes the E-Motion 180E as the first fully industrialized high-voltage electric outboard system for recreational boating.
