Valor Gold CEO Mark Ashley dies; chairman named interim CEO
Valor Gold Corp. (TSX: VGC) (OTCQB: VLGDF) announced the death of its Chief Executive Officer, Mark Ashley, who also served as a member of the company's Board of Directors.
Alan Edwards, Chairman of the Board of Directors, will assume the duties of Chief Executive Officer on an interim basis. The board stated it does not immediately intend to search for a permanent CEO or fill the board vacancy created by Ashley's passing.
Edwards said in a statement: "Mark created a compelling vision for Valor and assembled the right team to achieve this. Our plans for the foreseeable future are set and our task as a company is to implement the direction that has been established."
Valor Gold is a Canadian gold exploration and development company focused on the Courageous Lake Gold Project in the Northwest Territories.
