VCI Global names Dr. Chan as chief AI and data officer
VCI Global Limited (NASDAQ: VCIG) appointed Dr. Chan Wai Mun as Chief AI & Data Officer, the company announced. The appointment supports the company's artificial intelligence and data-driven innovation initiatives across enterprise and government platforms.
Dr. Chan previously held data science positions at Intel and GfK, part of NielsenIQ. He holds a PhD in Engineering and has over seven years of experience in manufacturing, operations, and retail sectors. His expertise includes building enterprise-grade AI systems on Microsoft Azure and developing solutions in business analytics, machine learning, and large language models.
The appointment coincides with VCI Global's advancement of AI and cybersecurity initiatives, including SecureGPU™, an encrypted AI compute infrastructure, and CyberSecure, a quantum-resistant cloud security solution for enterprise and institutional clients.
These initiatives form part of VCI Global's strategy to deliver AI-as-a-Service platforms across Southeast Asia. Dr. Chan will lead AI model development, data infrastructure, and analytics integration.
