Upbound Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: UPBD) has appointed Scott Young as Chief Operating Officer and Dev Chakraborty as Senior Vice President and Head of Brigit, according to a press release from the Plano, Texas-based company.
The COO role is newly created. Young will oversee strategic alignment across Upbound's three brands — Acima, Brigit and Rent-A-Center. He previously served as SVP and Global Head of Financial Solutions for PayPal and Venmo, where he led consumer, commercial and small business financial services across 11 countries. He has also held senior roles at Goldman Sachs, Citi, Barclays, GE Capital and MBNA.
"My focus will be on driving growth and ensuring that all our brands work as one connected enterprise," Young said.
Chakraborty will lead the Brigit business, which the company says has approximately $300 million in annual recurring revenue and 1.8 million paying users. He previously served as General Manager of Cards, Mortgages and Data Partnerships at MoneyLion, and before that as General Manager of Personal Loans at Credit Karma, a business he grew to approximately $700 million in annual revenue. "We will be building on that success, combining with the Upbound ecosystem and focusing on what Brigit can bring to the millions of consumers who come to us for their financial wellness tools," Chakraborty said.
CEO Fahmi Karam said the two appointments bring "operational leadership and collaborative mindset needed for the Company as we continue to grow and scale."
