UTStarcom names new finance head as CFO shifts to operations role

UTStarcom Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ: UTSI) announced changes to its finance leadership, effective August 21, 2026, according to a company statement.
Dan Xie will step down as Chief Financial Officer on that date and transition to a Vice President role overseeing the company's India and Japan operations.
Ying Kang joined the company on August 13, 2026, as Assistant Vice President of Finance, reporting directly to the CEO. He will assume full oversight of the Finance Department starting August 21, 2026.
Kang brings nearly 20 years of professional experience, including positions as Senior SOX Project Manager and internal auditor at U.S.-listed companies. He holds a Master's Degree in Environmental Engineering from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and carries both the China Certified Public Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor designations.
The company's board of directors approved the changes on August 11, 2026.
UTStarcom is headquartered in Hangzhou, China, and focuses on telecommunications infrastructure, with operations in Japan, India, and China.
