Trex Company Inc. (NYSE: TREX) announced that Bryan Fairbanks will retire as president and chief executive officer after nearly 23 years with the composite decking manufacturer, effective April 28, 2026.

The board of directors appointed Adam Zambanini, currently executive vice president and chief operating officer, as the next president and CEO, also effective April 28, 2026. Zambanini will join the board of directors upon assuming his new role. Fairbanks will serve as an outside consultant following the transition.

Zambanini has more than 20 years of experience at Trex, having held positions including president of residential products and vice president of marketing since joining the company in 2005. Before Trex, he worked at Rubbermaid Commercial Products and Flambeau Inc.

"In determining a successor, the Board undertook a comprehensive evaluation process, including assessing both internal and external candidates, and Adam was the clear and most capable successor to Bryan," said James Cline, chairman of the board of directors.

Fairbanks served as CEO for six years. "After a nearly 23-year career at Trex, including the past six years as CEO, now is the right time to transition leadership to Adam as part of our succession plan," Fairbanks said.

Zambanini holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Penn State University and an MBA from Averett University. He previously worked as a project engineer at Flambeau Inc. and held marketing roles at Rubbermaid Commercial Products.

The Winchester, Virginia-based company also announced separately that it released fourth quarter and full year 2025 financial results and scheduled a conference call for February 24, 2026.
