Tenaya Therapeutics (NASDAQ: TNYA) has appointed Eric Hyllengren as Chief Financial Officer, effective July 13, 2026, according to a company statement. He will oversee financial strategy, capital allocation, investor relations, and corporate development.

Hyllengren brings more than two decades of experience in biotechnology finance, capital markets, and corporate strategy. He most recently served as CFO and Executive Vice President of Zura Bio. Before that, he was CFO and Chief Operating Officer at Atara Biotherapeutics, where he executed more than $500 million in public financings. Earlier in his career, he held roles across finance, investor relations, and business development over 15 years at Amgen.

Hyllengren holds a Master of Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Notre Dame.

Tenaya also announced that Hiro Higa, Senior Vice President of Finance, will retire in the third quarter of 2026. The company said his retirement is unrelated to Hyllengren's appointment. Higa will remain with Tenaya as a consultant to assist with the transition of finance and accounting functions. Higa had been with the company for six years and played a role in its initial public offering.

Tenaya is a clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on therapies for heart disease. Its pipeline includes TN-201, a gene therapy for MYBPC3-associated hypertrophic cardiomyopathy; TN-401, a gene therapy for PKP2-associated arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy; and TN-301, a small molecule HDAC6 inhibitor targeting conditions including heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and Duchenne muscular dystrophy.
