Soracom names Richard Halliday CEO of Americas operations
Soracom Inc. (TSE: 147A) appointed Richard Halliday as Chief Executive Officer, Americas, effective June 1, 2026, according to a company statement.
Halliday will lead the IoT platform company's business operations across the Americas region, including sales, partnerships, and technical services teams. He joined Soracom in 2022 to lead partnerships in the Americas and later assumed responsibility for all Americas sales and technical services.
"Richard has led sales and partnerships through that growth, and I am confident that as Chief Executive Officer, Americas, he will keep current and future customers succeeding," said Kenta Yasukawa, Co-Founder and CTO of Soracom.
Halliday brings more than 30 years of experience in technology businesses across industrial manufacturing, global distribution, and IoT connectivity. At Illinois Tool Works, he held profit-and-loss responsibility for multiple business units. He shaped product strategy for a global distribution business with more than $1 billion in revenue at Premier Farnell and served as Vice President of Channel Sales and Alliances at Digi International, where he rebuilt the company's go-to-market model.
Soracom provides cellular and satellite connectivity, cloud integration, and AI services across more than 200 countries and territories. The company connects devices to AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud platforms and offers services spanning from SIM-level connectivity to application-layer intelligence.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange-listed company was founded in 2014 and serves customers across industries including agriculture, energy, transportation, manufacturing, healthcare, and retail.
