Sonendo promotes John McGaugh to chief operating officer

Sonendo Inc. (OTC Pink: SONX) announced the promotion of John McGaugh to Chief Operating Officer from his previous role as Senior Vice President of Operations.

McGaugh will retain his oversight of quality, manufacturing, supply chain and technical services operations while adding responsibility for the company's capital and consumables sales teams and commercial operations, according to the company's press release.

"John has been a significant contributor to all those improvements, and we expect he will continue to drive additional operating leverage as the Company continues to execute its plans to achieve profitability," said Bjarne Bergheim, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sonendo.

McGaugh joined Sonendo in May 2023 and has more than 20 years of experience overseeing global manufacturing operations. Before joining the dental technology company, he served as a multi-site operational leader for Abbott Vascular and held leadership roles at Boston Scientific and American Medical Systems.

The Laguna Hills, California-based company develops the GentleWave System, a technology platform for treating tooth decay. Sonendo stated it has stabilized revenue, increased gross margin leverage and reduced total operating expenses, adjusted EBITDA loss and cash burn since beginning a strategic reset in early 2024.
