Sinch AB appointed Sophie Cheng as chief marketing officer, effective June 1, according to a company statement. Cheng succeeds Jonathan Bean, who moved to the role of executive vice president for EMEA and global partnerships.

Cheng joins Sinch's global leadership team and will report to CEO Laurinda Pang. She previously led the company's global product marketing and revenue enablement organization since joining Sinch in 2024.

Before joining Sinch, Cheng held senior leadership positions at ZoomInfo and Chorus.ai, where she supported commercial growth initiatives and helped businesses implement AI-driven customer engagement technologies.

"Sophie brings a rare combination of strategic vision, operational excellence and deep understanding of both product and customer needs," Pang said in the statement. "She has already made a significant impact at Sinch through her leadership of our global product go-to-market organization."

Cheng said she plans to focus on translating customer and market intelligence into growth opportunities and enhanced customer experiences. "I've seen firsthand the scale of Sinch's ambition and the massive opportunity ahead as AI transforms how businesses communicate with consumers," she stated.

The appointment comes as Sinch continues to develop its customer communications platform and expand its market presence in the business communications sector.
