Scynexis names Sanjay Subramanian as new CFO

Scynexis, Inc. (NASDAQ: SCYX) appointed Sanjay Subramanian as Chief Financial Officer, effective September 9, 2026, according to a company statement. The appointment follows the retirement of Ivor Macleod, who held the CFO role for nearly four years. Macleod will remain with the company through October 9, 2026 to assist with the transition.
Subramanian brings more than 20 years of experience in finance, capital markets, business development and operational leadership across the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. He most recently served as CFO and Head of Business Development at Inozyme Pharma, where he led the company's acquisition by BioMarin Pharmaceutical. He previously served as CFO and Head of Corporate Development at Ocugen, and earlier held finance roles at Aralez Pharmaceuticals, Bausch Health Companies and General Motors.
Subramanian holds an M.B.A. from the MIT Sloan School of Management, master's degrees from MIT and The Ohio State University, and a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.
In connection with his appointment, Subramanian received a stock option to purchase 100,000 shares of Scynexis common stock at an exercise price of $4.91 per share, the closing trading price on September 9, 2026. The option carries a ten-year term and vests over four years, with one-fourth vesting on the one-year anniversary of the grant date and the remainder vesting in equal monthly installments over the following 36 months. The grant was made under the Scynexis 2015 Inducement Award Plan.
