July 14, 2026 8:32 AM EDT

Runway Growth Capital LLC announced that Carmela Thomson became its Chief Financial Officer effective June 30, 2026, succeeding Thomas B. Raterman, who transitioned to the role of Vice Chairman.

Thomson joined Runway in June 2021 from KPMG LLP, where she had served as an Audit Senior Manager focused on financial institutions. At Runway, she contributed to the firm's accounting and financial reporting infrastructure, including work supporting the public listing of Runway Growth Finance Corp. (Nasdaq: RWAY), the company's publicly traded business development company. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Economics from Loyola University of Chicago and is a Certified Public Accountant.

Raterman, who joined Runway in 2015, previously held the combined roles of CFO and Chief Operating Officer. In his new role as Vice Chairman, he will focus on strategic initiatives including portfolio optimization, mergers and acquisitions, capital markets transactions, and capital formation. He will continue to serve on the investment committee of Runway Growth Finance Corp. and assist with special-situation assets.

Raterman was involved in Runway Growth Capital's acquisition by BC Partners Credit and Mount Logan Capital, as well as Runway Growth Finance Corp.'s acquisition of SWK Holdings Corporation.

"Carmela's appointment reflects the strength of the leadership bench we have built internally," said David Spreng, Founder, CEO, and Chief Investment Officer of Runway Growth Capital.

Runway Growth Capital serves as investment adviser to Runway Growth Finance Corp. and other private funds, providing senior term loans ranging from $10 million to $150 million to growth-stage companies primarily in the United States and Canada.
