Qualstar appoints Jeff Sengpiehl as chief technology officer

Qualstar Corporation (OTC: QBAK) appointed Jeff Sengpiehl as chief technology officer, effective immediately, according to a company statement. The Irvine, California-based data storage solutions manufacturer created the position to support its growth strategy.



Sengpiehl brings over 30 years of experience in media and entertainment technology. He previously served as CTO and Chief Technologist at Key Code Media, where he led a team of broadcast and post-production specialists and advised executives on technology adoption and cloud infrastructure.



His career includes senior engineering roles at Light Iron, Sim International, and ABC Television, where he managed infrastructure transitions including the shift from standard definition to high definition production.



"Jeff's deep technical expertise and proven ability to align innovation with business outcomes make him an ideal fit as we execute on our growth strategy," said Steven Bronson, chairman and CEO of Qualstar.



The company stated the CTO role supports plans to expand into enterprise markets, broaden its product portfolio through hardware and software bundles, and pursue strategic acquisitions.



Founded in 1984, Qualstar designs and manufactures tape libraries for data storage and has sold more than 35,000 units worldwide. The company describes itself as the last independent tape library manufacturer, serving data-intensive industries.
