Pharming CEO steps down; interim co-CEOs named
Pharming Group N.V. (Euronext Amsterdam: PHARM / Nasdaq: PHAR) announced that Fabrice Chouraqui has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director by mutual agreement with the Board of Directors, effective immediately.
The Board has appointed Chief Commercial Officer Leverne Marsh and Chief Financial Officer Kenneth Lynard as Interim Co-CEOs. Marsh will oversee patient-focused operations, while Lynard will lead global corporate functions. The Board has begun a formal search for a permanent CEO.
According to the announcement, the Board and Chouraqui concluded their views on executing the company's strategic priorities were not sufficiently aligned, prompting the leadership change.
Board Chairman Richard Peters said in a statement: "Our immediate priority is to ensure continuity across leadership, while maintaining focus on the continued execution of Pharming's strategy and its commitment to patients."
Pharming stated that its strategy, pipeline, and commitment to patients remain unchanged. The company and Chouraqui said they would not comment further beyond the announcement.
