Pacifica Silver names new chairman and president

Pacifica Silver Corp. (CSE: PSIL) (OTCQB: PAGFF) announced the appointment of Daniel Kunz as Chairman of the Board of Directors and Fernando Berdegué de Cima as President, effective immediately. The company also appointed Octavio Lizardi as Vice President of Exploration, effective September 15, 2025.



Kunz brings extensive mining industry experience to his new role. He served as President, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Prime Mining Corp. from 2020 to 2024, leading development of the Los Reyes gold-silver project in Sinaloa State, Mexico. From 2002 to 2019, he was Lead Independent Director of Chesapeake Gold Corp., which is developing the Metates gold and silver project in Durango State, Mexico. Earlier in his career, from 1997 to 2004, he served as Director, President and Chief Operating Officer of Ivanhoe Mines Ltd. and participated in the discovery of Mongolia's Oyu Tolgoi copper-gold deposit.



As President, Berdegué de Cima will oversee operational leadership and stakeholder engagement in Mexico. He has over 15 years of experience in the natural resource industry and most recently served as Chief Executive Officer of Durango Gold, the previous owner and operator of Pacifica's Claudia Project. He currently serves as a Strategic Advisor for Vizsla Silver.



Lizardi will direct exploration activities at the company's Claudia silver-gold project. He has over 20 years of experience in precious metals, base metals and rare earth elements exploration. Prior to joining Pacifica, he worked as a Senior Structural Geologist at Newmont's Penasquito Mine in Mexico and as Technical Manager at exploration consultancy Prodemin S.A. De C.V.



The company also announced that director Darien Lattanzi will step down to pursue other opportunities.



Pacifica Silver focuses on its Claudia Project in Durango, Mexico, which spans 11,876 hectares and encompasses most of the historic El Papantón Mining District.
