PACS Group names Patrick Murphy as chief legal officer

PACS Group, Inc. (NYSE: PACS) announced that John Mitchell retired as Chief Legal Officer and Corporate Secretary on Sept. 18, 2026, and that Patrick J. Murphy has been appointed to succeed him, effective Sept. 21, 2026.

Mitchell, who joined PACS in 2017, supported the company through organizational growth and its initial public offering. He will remain with the company in a consulting capacity during the transition.

Murphy joins PACS from King & Spalding, where he was a partner in the Special Matters Practice Group. He previously spent two decades at General Electric, including nearly 15 years as Global Chief Litigation Counsel for GE Healthcare. He also served as Senior Vice President Legal and Global Chief Litigation Counsel for Fresenius Medical Care.

Murphy's public-sector experience includes serving as Chief Counsel to the Crime and Technology Unit of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee Majority Staff and as Assistant General Counsel to the FBI. He began his legal career as a Judge Advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps, attaining the rank of Major.

PACS is a Salt Lake City-based holding company that operates 355 post-acute care facilities across 20 states, serving more than 33,400 patients daily, according to the company's press release.
