Optex Systems names Chad George as president

Optex Systems Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: OPXS) appointed Chad George as president, effective immediately, according to a company statement. George will report to Chief Executive Officer Danny Schoening.
George previously served as vice president of operations and supply chain at Leonardo DRS, where he worked on production processes and strategic sourcing. His career includes positions at Raytheon and Dr. Pepper. He holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.
"Chad's leadership experience and deep understanding of defense manufacturing and supply chain operations make him the ideal person to help lead our organization into the future," Schoening said in the statement.
George said he plans to expand the company's product portfolio and explore adjacent markets to drive growth.
As president, George will lead strategic initiatives and work to expand Optex into new market verticals. The Richardson, Texas-based company manufactures optical sighting systems for military applications, with products installed on various U.S. military vehicles including Abrams and Bradley fighting vehicles.
Founded in 1987, Optex Systems is an ISO 9001:2015 certified manufacturer that delivers products directly to military services and prime contractors. The company also produces periscope configurations, rifle and surveillance sights, and night vision optical assemblies.
