Optex Systems names Chad George as CEO effective December 20

Optex Systems Holdings Inc. (NASDAQ: OPXS) announced Chad George will become President and Chief Executive Officer effective December 20, 2025. George previously served as President of the Richardson, Texas-based manufacturer of optical sighting systems for military and commercial applications.



George brings defense industry experience from senior roles at Leonardo DRS, where he served as Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain, and Raytheon, where he began his career as a manufacturing engineer. He spent over 20 years in the defense sector throughout his career, with a four-year period in the consumer goods sector at Dr Pepper.



George holds a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering from Oklahoma State University and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas.



"Chad has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a clear strategic vision since joining Optex," said Danny Schoening, outgoing CEO. "His deep understanding of defense manufacturing, his operational leadership, and most importantly, his commitment to innovation makes him the ideal choice to guide Optex forward."



Schoening served as CEO for 13 years and will continue as Chairman of the board of directors. George has also been appointed to the board as part of the transition.

Founded in 1987, Optex manufactures optical sighting systems primarily for Department of Defense applications. Its products are installed on U.S. military vehicles including Abrams and Bradley fighting vehicles and the Stryker family of vehicles.
