Noodles & Company promotes Joseph Christina to CEO effective August 31

Noodles & Company (NASDAQ: NDLS) announced the promotion of Joseph D. Christina from President and Chief Operating Officer to President and Chief Executive Officer, effective August 31, 2025. Christina will also join the company's Board of Directors.



Drew Madsen will step down as CEO for personal medical reasons but will remain on the Board of Directors. Madsen will facilitate the transition through August, according to the company's statement.



"On behalf of the entire Board, I want to thank Drew for his steady leadership and service," said Jeff Jones, Chairman of the Board. "We're pleased he will continue to provide guidance as a board director, given his vast industry experience."



Christina brings 29 years of restaurant industry experience, having started at Burger King where he advanced from restaurant manager to Senior Vice President of U.S. Franchise Operations for the West Division. He later served as Executive Vice President of U.S. Operations at Church's Chicken before becoming its CEO, President, and Board Member. Most recently, he served as CEO of Tijuana Flats.



The company rescheduled its second quarter 2025 earnings conference call to Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at 4:30 p.m. ET. The call was previously scheduled for August 6, 2025. Drew Madsen, Joe Christina, and Chief Financial Officer Mike Hynes will host the call. Financial results will be released after market close on the same day.
