NervGen Pharma Corp. (TSXV: NGEN) (NASDAQ: NGEN) announced that Chief Financial Officer Bill Adams will retire effective March 15, 2026, according to a company statement.
The Vancouver-based clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company has engaged an executive search firm to identify Adams' successor. Adams will continue in an advisory capacity following his retirement to support the transition process.
Adams joined NervGen six years ago and served as CFO during the company's development from preclinical studies to its current Nasdaq listing status. The company is developing NVG-291, a therapeutic candidate for spinal cord injury treatment that is entering late-stage development.
"Bill joined us at a critical moment in the lifecycle of the Company six years ago and has been a trusted colleague and advisor," said Adam Rogers, President and Chief Executive Officer of NervGen.
Adams commented on his tenure: "It gives me great joy to have helped guide the Company's dramatic transformation from preclinical and first-in-human studies to a Nasdaq-listed company entering late-stage development for NVG-291."
NervGen focuses on developing neuroreparative therapeutics for spinal cord injury and other neurotraumatic conditions. The company's lead candidate NVG-291 has received Fast Track designation from the FDA and Orphan Drug designation from the European Medicines Agency for spinal cord injury treatment.
The company is currently conducting a Phase 1b/2a clinical trial in individuals with subacute spinal cord injury and preparing for a Phase 3 clinical trial in chronic spinal cord injury patients.
