National Health Investors names Chris Maingot as its first COO

National Health Investors, Inc. (NYSE: NHI) has appointed Chris Maingot as Chief Operating Officer, effective July 27, 2026, according to a press release from the Murfreesboro, Tenn.-based real estate investment trust.
Maingot brings more than 20 years of senior housing experience to the role. Most recently, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Longview Senior Housing, a Blackstone portfolio company, where he oversaw a senior housing portfolio with operations in the United States and Canada. His responsibilities included operational performance, portfolio strategy, capital deployment, operator relationships, and asset repositioning.
Prior to Longview, Maingot spent more than a decade at Brookdale Senior Living, most recently as Senior Vice President of Corporate Development and Strategic Initiatives. He earlier held executive leadership positions at Horizon Bay before its acquisition by Brookdale.
Maingot currently serves on the Executive Board of the American Senior Housing Association, is a member of Argentum's Capital Advisory Group, and was a founding member of the NIC Future Leaders Council.
Eric Mendelsohn, President and CEO of NHI, said the COO appointment is intended to support the company's senior housing portfolio expansion and deepen its operating relationships. "As the Company's first COO, Chris brings exceptional operating experience managing large senior housing portfolios and working alongside leading operators," Mendelsohn said.
NHI, established in 1991, is a self-managed REIT that owns, leases, operates, and finances senior housing communities and medical facilities.
