Metallus CEO Michael Williams to retire; Kris Westbrooks named successor

Metallus (NYSE: MTUS) announced that Chief Executive Officer Michael S. Williams will retire effective December 31, 2026, and will step down from the company's board of directors on the same date.



The board has appointed Kristopher R. Westbrooks, currently president and chief operating officer, to succeed Williams as president and chief executive officer and as a board member, effective January 1, 2027. Williams will remain with the company as a special advisor to the CEO and board of directors through June 30, 2027.



"On behalf of our board, I would like to thank Mike for his leadership and contributions over the years," said Ronald A. Rice, chairman of the board.



Westbrooks joined Metallus in 2018. Prior to that, he held senior finance and accounting roles at A. Schulman, Inc., where he served as vice president, chief accounting officer and corporate controller. Earlier in his career, he held accounting and financial analysis positions at The Procter & Gamble Company and began his career in public accounting with PwC.



Metallus, based in Canton, Ohio, manufactures specialty metals and had sales of $1.2 billion in 2025. The company employs approximately 1,905 people.
